Outpatient Mental Health Treatment

Intensive Outpatient Treatment (IOP) in Dallas, TX

Our Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) treat mental health and addiction concerns for those ages 11+ when symptoms require greater therapeutic support than can be achieved in the individual outpatient counseling setting. IOP is also recommended as the next step on your healing path when you have completed more extensive stabilization or detoxification treatment, such as inpatient care, a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), or a Residential Treatment Program (RTP).

What We Treat

IOP is effective for the treatment of a wide range of mental health and substance use concerns, including, but not limited to:

  • Drug or alcohol abuse or addiction
  • Depression
  • Stress and anxiety disorders
  • Trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
  • Mood disorders
  • Personality disorders
  • Mental health symptoms accompanied by substance use

What To Expect

Led by Master’s-level clinicians, IOP therapy is designed to challenge negative emotions, thoughts and behaviors, while teaching and reinforcing mindfulness techniques and positive coping skills.

IOP is structured psychotherapy in a small group format. Group settings are effective in developing self-awareness, emotional management, and social awareness. Our compassionate, experienced therapists use a variety of evidence-based methods, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). Among other things, patient-focused group topics may include:

  • Coping with a mental health diagnosis
  • Relapse prevention
  • Life experiences and behavioral impact
  • Understanding moods and emotions
  • Triggers and warning signs
  • Communication and conflict resolution
  • Self-identity and self-esteem
  • Identifying problems and finding solutions

Individual and family counseling may be recommended by your therapist as part of the IOP program. Our licensed medical providers assist with medication management as needed which, in conjunction with psychotherapy, will enhance mental health outcomes.

Groups meets daily for approximately four to six weeks. Upon completion of the Intensive Outpatient Program, our clinical team will schedule follow-up care with appropriate community health providers to ensure your continued recovery.
